The Ukrainians rescued from the Adriatic, a ship that sank off the Israeli coast on December 12, have arrived in the Israeli port of Ashdod, Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

He said that the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel had sent additional information concerning the Ukrainian crew of the Adriatic, which sank near the port of Ashdod.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the M. Greate, the ship that took the Ukrainians on board, arrived in the port of Ashdod in the afternoon on December 14.

"A representative of the company operating the sunken ship boarded the [M. Greate]. The Ukrainian sailors are to be relocated to the Israeli city of Ashkelon for their temporary accommodation at a local hotel," Dykusarov said.

As reported, the Adriatic, the vessel carrying 3,000 tonnes of iron on board, capsized on Sunday, December 12, in stormy waters off the Israeli coast. The all-Ukrainian crew abandoned the sinking vessel in lifeboats.
