Europe will give long-term visas to Ukrainians?
Short-term visas for the Ukrainians to the countries of the EU (European Union) can be substituted for medium-term and long-term visas. At least, the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the parties have reached an agreement at a meeting of Committee on Cooperation EU-Ukraine on Thursday).
In particular, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration Borys Tarasiuk has said that the joint report of the MPs of the European Parliament on visa policy should be presented in both legislative bodies - Ukrainian and European ones.
He also is sure that authorities will be able to sign an action plan to introduce visa-free regime with EU countries at the summit Ukraine-EU on November 22 in Brussels, according to Ukrainskaya pravda.
In turn, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Leonid Kozhara reminded about three conditions for obtaining a visa-free regime: the introduction of biometric passports, protection of personal data and work at the state border to meet the European standards.
The Law on Personal Data has already been approved by the parliament of Ukraine, said Leonid Kozhara, adding that the other two conditions can be fulfilled by the state within a year.
