All the members of the crew from a Delphin Voyager ship, operated by a bankrupt company, are supposed to return to Ukraine on Tuesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press secretary Oleksandr Dykusarov said.

"On October 18 the crew members of the cruise ship, who left in Greece, with 171 Ukrainian nationals received a salary and set off by two buses to the immigration police of the Piraeus port for the visa documents and further repatriation by the flights Athens-Istanbul-Kyiv/Odesa. The flight to Istanbul had been scheduled for October 18, and the arrival of the first group of sailors in Kyiv is scheduled for October 19, 2010," he said.

"The case is further controlled by the Ukrainian Embassy in Greece," Oleksandr Dykusarov added.

On October 12 the Delphin Voyager, traveling from Venice to Istanbul, carried out a routine call at the Greek port of Piraeus. According to the Ukrainian Embassy in the Hellenic Republic, the operating company declared itself bankrupt and refused to fulfill financial obligations to the ship's crew having 171 Ukrainian citizens.

On October 15 at the expense of the ship-owner and the assistance of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission, charter flights have been arranged to repatriate 100 citizens of Ukraine, and the lawyer authorized by Ukrainian sailors agreed with the ship-owner on the repatriation of the remaining members of the Ukrainian part of the crew and the cash payment of wage arrears on 18 October, Ukrinform reports.

The vessel is owned by the Greece-based Enterprises Shipping and Trading SA, and operated by the German company Marine Trade Consulting Gmbh.
