Visas to Baltic states will become more available
Beginning from December 2010 Ukrainians will be able to issue short-stay visas for travel to Estonia and Latvia not only in Kyiv but also in Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Simferopol, Lviv - in the regional offices of the company Pony Express, Ukraine.
As told Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Latvia in Ukraine Atis Syanits, it has become possible thanks to a joint project of the international courier company Pony Express and the embassies of Latvia and Estonia on remote drawing up of Schengen visas, the Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia in Ukraine Jaan Hain has called this project "a good example of pragmatism, as it will save time and money of Ukrainians to go to the capital of Ukraine. He stressed that the implementation of this project will start on December 15.
Speaking about the duration of the paperwork, the head of visa service department at Pony Express, Ukraine Tetiana Turchanovych stressed that the company takes the documents from the Ukrainians, verifies them for compliance and the next day sends them by express delivery to the embassy. The term of drawing up the documents taking into consideration two days for delivery - 7 working days. It costs 300 UAH.
